“Man up! Boys don’t cry! Grow some balls! Take it like a man!”
These are just a few of the many things men often hear throughout their lives. This type of mentality causes a lot more harm than good. Often men turn to alcohol, drugs, or develop unhealthy habits which can cause health issues. Men frequently hurt those closest to them and when it becomes too much they turn to a much more permanent solution such as suicide.
We want to hear from those who have been to hell and back and have dealt or are trying to deal with their grief. Whether it is the death of a parent, sibling, spouse, child, friend or the loss of a career, finances, relationship or pets we are here to understand and support you.
We are collecting information and working to change how men are treated when it comes to their grief. Help us guide professionals of all backgrounds learn how men want to be spoken to and how they want to be treated in times of grief. We are looking at bringing men together and working on better access, better programming and better supports for men.
